Creating a Circular Model
Most people don't know this, but the fashion industry is one of the top polluters in the world.
Worse, with the rise of fast fashion, more & more textiles are going to waste (approximately 1 dump truck per second).
The GOOD news is there is another way. By reusing what we already have, we reduce the amount of clothing going into landfills and minimize resources used to make the shirts. By choosing to REfashion, you are saving water, waste, and lookin' good to boot.
With our Mission to reduce waste in fashion, the first part of our process is to curate graphic tees heading to waste. We find our shirts through 3 sources:
1. Thrift Stores are overflowing with clothing that can't all be sold. What is not sold often goes to 3rd World countries where much of the clothes end up as waste.
3. Screen Printers print shirts at such volumes that mistakes happen. These shirts become "scratch" shirts for testing other graphics. Rather than going to the dump, these layered beauties make for some of our most sought-after apparel.
We believe in the power of people and treating each other well. That's why our production partners are local folks making a decent living. All of our added material is a sustainable mix of Tencel (made from wood pulp) and Organic Cotton.
We've standardized patterns so even though all our shirts are one-of-a-kind, they have a consistent fit. The variations in our shirts may include an ink splot or a printer's mark, but that's part of what makes each shirt special.
We commit 1% of our sales to environmental causes. In addition we partner with other brands to give back to causes that they are passionate about. Know that every purchase you make goes towards making the world a better place and inspiring others to be responsible stewards of our shared planet.
